The Advanced Manufacturing CRC Limited today announced the appointment of Dr Gordon Meijs as Research Manager.
The Group Managing Director of the Advanced Manufacturing CRC, Mr Bruce Grey stated that “We are extremely pleased that Gordon has agreed to join the AMCRC. He has had a long and distinguished career at the CSIRO and his experience is particularly relevant to the objectives of the AMCRC.”
Gordon commenced with the CSIRO in 1986 and immediately made an impact in the creation of valuable Intellectual Property. His contributions have evolved from specialist Research Scientist with expertise in polymers with biomaterial applications, through to program management and over the past several years, Intellectual Property development and commercialization. He moved from a single scientific discipline into a “generalist” across the breadth of the CSRIO themes/programs. He is passionate about the uptake of technology. In 2000 he was involved in formalizing the factors involved in facilitating the creation of new business enterprises from research institutes. He has a Bachelor of Science and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Adelaide University.
The Advanced Manufacturing CRC aims to create significant economic impact through R&D and commercialization of new Intellectual Property
Mr Grey said “I recently assured all our stakeholders that we are continuing to build the organization with experienced and committed staff members. Gordon brings considerable experience in the management of research projects and his IP management experience means that he will make a key contribution to the development of the AMCRC.”
“We will be making further announcements of new staff in the near future”.
