We are now refocusing the AMCRC on five themes. These include existing areas of advanced materials, next generation processes and knowledge based manufacturing. But we have added two more: renewable energy and electric vehicle components and SME engagement and innovation management. The AMCRC wants to find new participants for all these themes, but particularly the new ones. There’s a simple application process where we can quickly give applicants an answer as to whether it’s worth proceeding with. Then we have an extensive evaluation process looking at invention quality and then assessing commerciality, engineering, the research provider and the participant. Our focus is on creating valuable product, process and IP. We’re looking for companies, and SMEs in particular, that need assistance to complete R&D and create world beating products and IP.
